Note: this package contains the following files:
VIEW.EXE
MODVIEW.COM
CODE.COM
VIEW.DOC
VIEW.EXE is a utility that allows you to read ASCII, WordStar,
WordPerfect (release 4.2 to 5.1, including Windows version) and
Microsft Word (5.0 for DOS and 1.0 for Windows) files; print all or part
of them, search for keywords etc. Color schemes and other defaults
can be modified with the accompanying file MODVIEW.
It's all pretty straightforward I think - F1 in view brings up a help
screen.
Note that VIEW will NOT read completely very large files. It reads
what it can into memory but stops when no more memory is available.
This enables you to skip instantly from any point in the file to any other,
without having to access the diswk drive.
While I have tried to cover all possible embedded codes, particularly
in WordPerfect files, I cannot guarantee that VIEW will read anything other
than ASCII files flawlessly. If you do find a problem, send me a copy of
the offending file on diskette and I'll do my best to fix the problem
and send you an updated version of VIEW
****BONUS*****
CODE.COM encodes/decodes any file, using a six character key.
Usage: code [path][filename] /x
where x = e to encode, d to decode. Don't forget your key code!
It is recommended that you practice on some "who cares if I wreck them"
files before using CODE on "real" files.
